Intro to Lampwork Glass - Tiny Glass Hearts

Staci Adman<\/a><br><strong>Location:<\/strong> Schack Art Center, Flame &amp; Kiln Studio<\/p><p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\">Creating tiny glass hearts is a fun introduction to sculpting with glass. Using rods of borosilicate glass and bench-mounted flameworking torches, students will learn how to melt and shape glass. Different methods of applying color will be covered.<\/p><p class=\"\" style=\"text-align: start; ; white-space:pre-wrap;\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\">Students will learn how to safely operate a flameworking torch and how to use the flame to melt and shape borosilicate glass into heart shapes. We will also experiment with applying frit and stringer to the hot glass for added color and decoration.<\/p><p class=\"\" style=\"text-align: start; ; white-space:pre-wrap;\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\">Students will make several small (3/4\"-1\") glass hearts.<\/p><p class=\"\" style=\"text-align: start; ; white-space:pre-wrap;\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\">All supplies provided.
